Review of Curldaze Glossy Shine Gel
Updated: Apr 22
I have been waiting for a company who actually made a gel that does what it says on the jar. Well, wait no more.
The Curldaze Glossy Shine Gel has done just that. I can't wait for them to come out with more products. I have had problems with gels flaking in the past, but with this gel I have not seen any. Not even at the end of the week. I wash my hair once a week, but sometimes I will go a week and a half. If I go any longer I get product buildup, and my hair feels dirty.
Curldaze gave my hair a medium hold with a nice shine. It did make my hair somewhat dry, but not as bad as Wetline Extreme. I think it might have been fine, but I used a refresher spray mid-week that had water as the first ingredient. I forgot I cannot use a water-based refresher spray because it always makes my hair fuzzy, and destroys my curls.
Update on Curldaze: The next week I applied Curldaze Glossy Shine Gel then put Camille Rose Curl Maker on top, and I didn't have dry hair. It also softened the crunch but still had some hold. Also, the following day I used the Macadamia Healing Oil Spray which has no water in it, so my hair didn't frizz up or get fuzzy.
I need to find some moisturizing products that are not creams that I can pair with Curldaze. My hair doesn't like creams, leave-ins with milk, or products with protein. I only use a protein deep conditioner once a month. If I use it more than that, my hair feels like straw. Also, after I do a protein deep conditioner, I have to follow it with a moisturizing deep conditioner. This regimen along with trimming my hair every 3-4 months, seems to be the formula for my hair growth.
