I started this blog after keeping a journal about products and other suggestions that worked and didn't work with my natural hair. Even though I never really enjoyed writing, I thought if I needed help I couldn't possibly be alone. This is my story. By the way, shrinkage is real. My hair has a low porosity, medium density, fine texture.

One day I looked in the mirror and was devastated. My hair was thin and jagged. I knew I had to do something or I would lose all my hair. I was already considering going natural and had begun doing some research. So began my journey.

I began my journey to transition to my natural hair on February 19, 2018. Here's why. I wasn't taking good care of my relaxed hair as I usually would because lately I was exhausted from work. So, I left my hair care to my stylist. Oops! Big mistake!

It took about 1-1/2 years to let all the relaxer grow out of my hair. I was told it could take this long, but at the time I just couldn’t cut anymore from the top of my hair because it was so damaged and thin.
